Overview

This website is operated by Velvet Ruff ("we", "us", "our"). By visiting our site or buying from us, you agree to these Terms of Service, together with our Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, Privacy Policy, and, if you opt in to text messages, our SMS Terms. Please read them carefully. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc., which provides the online e-commerce platform that lets us sell our products and services to you.

Custom portrait terms

1. Your photos

When you upload a photo, you confirm that you took it yourself or have permission to use it, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights. You give us a limited license to use, copy, edit, and transform your photo only to create your portrait, fulfill your order, and provide customer support. We share your photo and portrait only with the service providers who help us make and deliver your order, such as our AI image-processing and print partners.

2. How portraits are made

Portraits are created with AI image-generation tools and reviewed by a person. Because each portrait is an artistic interpretation, it may differ from your photo in pose, background, clothing, colors, and small details. Colors on your printed canvas may look slightly different from your screen.

3. Proofs and approval

We email a digital proof before printing. Free revisions are available until you approve. By approving a proof, you confirm that you're happy with it and authorize us to produce it as shown. Changes after approval may not be possible.

4. Photos we can't use

We may decline or cancel any order, with a full refund, if the photo isn't suitable for a good portrait or if the content is unlawful, offensive, or appears to infringe someone else's rights. We don't make portraits of people. Pets only.

5. Personal use and showing your portrait

Your portrait and any digital file are for your personal, non-commercial use. You're welcome to share them with friends and on social media. We won't use your portrait or photo in our marketing without your permission.

6. Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars and may change without notice. Changes don't affect orders already placed. Sales tax is added where required.

7. Returns, refunds, and shipping

Because portraits are custom-made, returns for change of mind aren't accepted. See our Refund Policy and Shipping Policy for details about damaged items, defects, and delivery.

General terms

We may refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time. You may not use our products for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. We try to keep the information on this site accurate, but it may contain errors, and we may correct them at any time. We don't guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Velvet Ruff won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or our products. Our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time by posting the new version on this page. Continuing to use the site after changes means you accept them.
